ok my skin is in very bad shape i am starting to get dry skin and on the side of my lips i have scabs and dryness and on my arms i have medication but it barely works! I don’t want my mom to waste money on anything! Please give me answers!

I have an EXTREMELY oily t-zone while my cheeks are dry. I use 2 lotions. For my cheeks I use the dry skin lotion for Cetaphil. On my t-zone I use the Olay daily regeneraist serum. It is not too greasy, but by the next hour my oil control gets back to its’ regular state. Any good products that can keep my oily skin under control? By the way, I don’t have time to blot my face during the day…thanks.

Try the Olay moisturizer for Combination/Oily skin or the Neutrogena moisturizer for combination skin. It should control oil and moisturize properly

I’m male, 37 and have always had very oily skin. My pores on my face and large and I often find blackheads. Now I have found some information on what to do here at these sites:

but questions remain:
Are the AHA products good for me and if so is that the mild cleanser I use 3 times a day?
Is there a manly clay-based face mask? When during the day should that be applied?
Should the astringent be used after each washing and is that before or after the moisturizer?
I’m obviously confused by the regimen and order of things.
When should I expect to see a difference?
I’d like a solution that is conscious of the amount of money that men usually spend on face care products.
Evian? your kidding me right? Come on, that’s just water. I’m leaning toward the skincareconsultant now. Anyone?

Here is what I have recommended for my boys.

First wash your face every day. I try to get them to use something like Desert Essence Face Wash. It has tea tree oil in it. Three times might be too much … I would suggest in the morning and at night. A good moisturizer in the am will help keep you from getting stuff in your pores.

We also keep a bottle of witch hazel at the sink and cotton make up pads (not cotton balls). This is good for quick swipes when needed. TN Dickinson’s is a good brand. They also make presoaked pads if you are travelling.

Desert Essence also has cleansing pads. I usually don’t let my boys use them as often because they are a little more expensive than just washing….

And lastly Desert Essence makes a blemish touch up stick. Burts Bees also makes one but my boys like the Desert Essence one better.

They also like the biore strips which will pull blackheads and other stuff from the pores.

Once a week or so I use a mask from MD formulations … the illuminating masque which helps minimize pores. This should be available at Ulta. The other products should be at your local coop or whole foods or wild oats depending on where you live.

Now, this might sound crazy to you as a man, but you might want to investigate something like bare minerals make up. It is a powder which is buffed on. It is usually so shear that most people cannot even tell and it covers problem areas as well as protects your skin. ….

It’s not recommended to use any sort of lotion on a pimple prone skin as oily skin must not be made oilier. But to avoid dust and oil use a good herbal face wash atleast 3times a day and once before going to sleep. Apply good non-sticky sunscreen and brush a compact over that to avoid oily effect. Drink lot of water. Don’t touch pimples with hand. Apply ointment like clearasil or another prescribed one. A pimple should go away in 3-4 days. Few stay for longer. Apply turmeric powder + water to pimples before sleeping for natural healing. No side-effects whatsoever.

I’ve been in that situation and there is really nothing you can do about it. There are things you can do to try to reduce the blemishes and get rid of acne/pimples temporarily but you will always be finding yourself cleaning your face or your body depending on where it’s at.

I mean of course your acne should go away eventually but for some this is the case their whole life.

I’m 29 years old and have been suffering from these little pests since I was a teenager. I tried all sorts of face washes from the local grocery store and what not, but nothing seemed to work. If anything it would just make my skin dry and itchy.

use an oil free lotion. this way your skin is moisturized but oil free. this way the lotion isnt adding extra oil

Cleanse, tone, and moisturize.

When you strip your skin of moisture it goes into overdrive cranking out more oil. Try using a gentle cleaner, preferably one without any detergents (SLS) no more than twice a day. Use a gentle alcohol free toner. Witch hazel is a good inexpensive toner. Then follow with a oil free lotion. This is the most important step. It is actually more important to moisturize oily skin than dry. The lotion will tell your skin it has enough moisture and you will not produce as much oil.

There are also face products that contain clay to absorb extra oil.

any lotion that is good for oily skin.. i get few breakouts but my skin is oily.. please i use blotting papers or face wash but i need a lotion for my face just to moisturize it n to keep it oil free? please help me
